Criminal charges against Scottie Scheffler have been dismissed, ending a legal saga that began with images of the world's top golfer being arrested and handcuffed in Louisville during the PGA Championship.

Scheffler was arrested on May 17 and charged with felony second-degree assault of a police officer, as well as three misdemeanors, including third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.

Scheffler faces charges of second-degree assault of a police officer, a felony, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic, as Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said they intend to “let the legal process play out.”
